i'm not sure whether or not my view on this is correct so please leave your input.

in recent months i've been viewing youtube videos.

again, it might just be my view but there has been an increased amount of random people grabbing a camera and doing vlogs.

I was wondering that this weekend, so many on this board say that Scientology are like JW's expect on steroids. After Randy's rant this weekend I am starting to think JW's are more damaged than most believe. I have started to think they could be hurt the same if not worse than Scientology. There are just to many who lose it in very unproductive ways.

I totally agree. My first contact was with Bill Bowen. He was so angry at the time and went on a rant against the Anderson's especially Barbara that he drove me back in the JW's for two more year's. He was so bitter that he actually scared me.

There was also a very famous apostate in the middle of the state that I live in and again this man to me came off as totally crazy, but many including thoes on this board seemed to almost worship him.

The way Randy Walter's went off this weekend in a attack against Barbara Anderson is again a prime example, or six screens of the watchtower, just his web sight would scare a JW back. What's with that anyway, why act that way? Jonny the ex Bethelight, seriously? It just comes off as totally crazy.

There are so many great ex JW's, that can reason, such as Barbara Anderson, flipper. OTWO, but the one's who come rantings and swearing, yelling. They just prove the JW's right and drive hurt one's back in.

I personally think a lot of it, is that they like the fame, the lime light, it's not that they want to help people it's that they want the spot light to shine on them, however they can do it.

I wish we could be like Leah Remini in her speaking out against Scientology, expect for her swearing she comes across with herself together not some ranting nut case.

Elders getting burnt up.

i have overheard comments that demonstrate this, but in my dealings with them, i clearly see it.

they can't keep it straight.

I agree with Simon, my husband really was a victim also. Our marriage, my mental health, his physical health, non of it mattered.

I was a total enabler, I felt I was on this crazy merry-go-round and could not stop spinning long enough to think.

What really kills me now are the JW's that try to encourage me back by saying mistakes were made and that elder's are not treated like we were now. That the GB learned that demanding so much from elders and their wives was wrong.

Seriously! This one sister told me last month these exact word's. She trully is a sweet person who is afraid to take her blinders off as she would lose her entire family. One son an elder, son-in law MS. This religion is all she has known. It's sad.

a circuit overseer friend of mine serving in latin america called me today to say hi.

i asked him what's new and he dropped the news that they have received notification that the branch in mexico will be closing!!

this branch also called the central american branch (although located in mexico) oversees all of mexico's 800,000+ publishers plus all 7 countries of central america of over 100,000 publishers.

We did it when we served where the need was great. My husband was so busy in the congregation it was unreal. He worked just 4 or 5 day's a month as the ones in the hall demanded so much from him.

Yet every time the CO came through he verbally beat my husband for not doing even more. I worked 30 hours a week plus got 90 hour'sa month in pioneering. It was totally crazy.

All of our money went to service. We put 35,000 miles a year on our car in service. We could never do enough, give enough, be enough. It was always more, more, more.

If they demanded it of us why would it be a stretch of the imagination to think they woukd not do it to CO's?

As far as how would CO's support themselves, when we served where the need was great, my elder husband was always gone doing elder stuff for the hall he made just 200 a month and still the CO at the time would rebuck him and me every time he came through to do more for the hall just relie on Jehovah. Just have more faith.

I could see them making the CO's work without to much strech of the imagination.

I can see it somewhat happen. Like Simon said they don't need 3000 anymore, and making the CO's independent isn't that really the way they are headed now. The CO's are the one's who appoint elder's and MS's now without going through the branch.

It used to be if you called the US branch you would at least get the initial's of some made up name, last spring when I called they would not even give you that. They are getting more paranoid and creepy on the phone.

Also I can see them making CO's support themselves, doesn't everyone who serve's where the need is great do that all ready. We did. And any place they send you where they deem the need to be great, it is usually hard to find work. Do they care or help you. No they just tell you to relie on Jehovah and just make sure you get your time in. We got no help from anyone, yet for eveyone who burns out they always seem to have two dying to replace them, by telling them to keep their blinders on and Jehovah will bless them.

Time will tell.

I don't feel one bit sorry for them. I was married to an elder for 21 year's and NON of the other elders wanted to do anything but hold title. My husband was dumped on all the time, given all the crazies in the hall.

Their wives were gossiping bitties who were spiteful and mean.

We never had a marriage because all the crazies demanded so much, I have been yelled at, screamed at, I have been demanded money from the crazies even through we were so poor ourselves, but the crazies felt my husband being an elder should help them with their rent, food, rides, raising their kid's that's a whole ather story. It was all my husband's fault that their kid's were not JW's.

No I don't feel one bit sorry for any of those elders. I truly hope karma takes them out.

NPR with Trey Bundy anyone hear anything from the JW's about it.

i received a call from one of my job's on saturday who lives in settle wa, she was driving and listening to npr and the interview came on, she said she was shocked at how the jw's are dealing with the child abuse problem.

she has family who are hard core jw's and was sick that her grandchildren could be affected.. she cannot be the only one who has heard this on npr.

just wondering if there will be any fall out from it or if like everything else it will all just die down in jw land.

I am not just worried about JW's and their pedophile problem, please don't think that I am that naive to not understand that it is in all places especially the one's you mentioned. I get that, but in the JW world it has impacted me more than any of the places that you mentioned as it has impacted me severely, not that I am in any way what so ever making being molested by a teacher, boy scouts and all the other horrible and horrific places children are abusedin less important.

I just was wondering if in this case the JW religion has anyone heard of fall out from Trey's story on NPR.

If Trey does a story on teacher's molesting children I might ask the same question about that. I do not mean any disrepect to anyone who's been abused by any one in power over them.

I just listened to this finally, I actually feel sick. When Howie said people are wasting their lives, it was me. Everything he said about Bethel, all I can think of is that we had 3 pedophiles in the hall I was in, I was threatened for talking about it.

There was this one man in the hall he loooooved to pioneer, he was around memy whole life. I could never stand him. His kids were older than I and some where in the "truth" but none ever did much. They never did much with their lives, the boy's had kid's by different women they had a hard time holding job's etc. One of this guy's daughters tried to kill herself when she was in her mid teen's by shooting herself.

This man just died on October of this year.and their were so many HE that thought this guy walked on water they held his memorial at a high school.

The other day I thinking about him andhow much I never liked him, I remember being 8, 9 year's old,and how in my teen'she just totally creeped me out. How when I got married he ripped into me because I didn't send him an personal invitation to my wedding. I remember him totally rebuking me telling me that I owed hima privite invite.

To finsh this story. I just realized he was never an elder, I don't even think MS, all those year's pioneering all the admiration why was he never an elder?
